Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect your information.

Last updated: February 18, 2026

At Cloxly, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We've written this in plain English so you can actually understand it.

What we collect

When you use Cloxly, we collect the following types of information:

Account information

When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and password. If you're on a paid plan, we also collect billing information like your payment method and billing address. We don't store your full credit card number — our payment processor handles that.

Time tracking data

This is the core of what Cloxly does. We store your time entries, projects, tags, and any notes you add to your tracked time. This data belongs to you.

Usage information

We use analytics tools to understand how people use Cloxly so we can make it better. This includes things like which features you use, how often you visit, and general device and browser information. We don't use this data to identify you personally — it's about understanding patterns across all users.

Integration data

If you connect Cloxly to third-party tools (like project management or calendar apps), we access only the data needed to make that integration work. We don't read or store anything beyond what's necessary for the connection.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Run and improve Cloxly
  • Process your payments and manage your subscription
  • Send you important updates about your account or our service
  • Provide customer support when you reach out
  • Understand how people use Cloxly so we can make it better
  • Protect against fraud and abuse

What we don't do

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with advertisers. We do not use your time tracking data for marketing purposes. Your data is yours — we just store it and help you make sense of it.

Cookies and tracking

We use cookies to keep you logged in and to remember your preferences. We also use analytics cookies to understand how people use our site and product.

You can disable cookies in your browser, but some parts of Cloxly may not work properly without them (like staying logged in).

Third-party services

We work with a small number of trusted services to run Cloxly. These include:

  • Payment processing — to handle subscriptions and billing
  • Hosting and infrastructure — to store your data and serve the app
  • Analytics — to help us understand usage patterns
  • Email — to send transactional emails like password resets

These services only access the data they need to do their job and are contractually required to protect it.

Where your data lives

Your data is stored and processed in the United States. If you're using Cloxly from outside the US, your data will be transferred to and stored in the US. By using Cloxly, you consent to this transfer.

How we protect your data

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information. This includes encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, regular security audits, and strict access controls. That said, no system is 100% secure — we do our best, but we can't guarantee absolute security.

How long we keep your data

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we'll remove your personal information and time tracking data within 30 days. Some data may be retained longer if required by law (like billing records for tax purposes).

Your rights

Regardless of where you live, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the data we have about you
  • Correct — ask us to fix inaccurate information
  • Delete — ask us to delete your account and data
  • Export — download your time tracking data in a standard format
  • Object — opt out of analytics tracking

If you're in the EU/EEA, you have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. If you're in California, you have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what data we collect and the right to opt out of data sales (which we don't do anyway).

Children

Cloxly is not intended for anyone under 16. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email or with a notice in the app. We won't quietly reduce your rights — if something changes in a meaningful way, you'll know about it.
